Starting out as a local charity, a community foundation, “Unity of Society” has been already actively involved in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
The Name of the benevolent fund sounds in Ukrainian like “Unity of Community”, it transparently reveals the basic problem – helping ordinary people and mutual assistance in general.
Support for physically challenged people remains a constant priority, but many other significant questions have been stated parallel and are being solved:
- Help to temporary migrants from the eastern regions of Ukraine;
- Support of social and public institutions and children with disabilities;
- Cooperation and coordination with other charities;
- Help to improve the material security of hospitals, clinics, diagnostic rooms, rural dispensaries and obstetric units and other health facilities;
- Assist the Employment Center for Persons with Disabilities;
- Help to geriatric and neuropsychiatric boarding houses, where people stay, who are extremely vulnerable and cannot help themselves;
- Facilitate life of palliative patients and build a network of hospices in the city of Odessa and Odessa region;
- Creation of a regional network of rehabilitation centers for children with cerebral palsy.
The success activity of the fund contributes to the establishment of productive contacts with local philanthropic organizations and governmental institutions, namely: unions of veterans; societies for the disabled; organizations of persons with visual impairments; other charitable foundations; center for professional rehabilitation; sports club for persons with disabilities; Child development centers; non-governmental organizations, including charitable foundations that patronize socially vulnerable groups and children; territorial centers of social services; neuropsychiatric boarding houses; houses of mercy in monasteries; medical institutions in Odessa and the region; educational institutions; health resort for children; Services for Children and the district, rural, City Councils.
